Natalie Cuchel is the Board Chair of Roads to Success. Natalie has worked in different capacities in NYC’s not-for-profit education community since 1994. She received a BA from Hampshire College 1990 and an MS in education from Bank Street in 1996. Natalie is currently taking time away from work to spend more time focusing on her family and Roads to Success.
Yoon Chong serves as Treasurer to the Board of Roads to Success. He is a Risk Assurance Director with PwC based in New York. He has over 15 years of extensive experience within internal audit, governance, compliance and broader risk and controls services. Prior to PwC he was a Vice President within Goldman Sachs’ Internal Audit Department, managing various lines of business audit teams such as GS Bank, Compliance, Risk Management, Capital Markets Fixed Income, Commodities and Currencies (FICC) internal audit team. His prior experiences also included advising senior management in executing, structuring, valuation analysis and approval of complex derivative transactions. Yoon holds an MBA in Finance from the Simon Business School, an MA in Economics from Cambridge University and is also a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He lives in New York City with his wife and three children.
Charlie Miles is currently a founding member and the CIO of Claris Capital Management.
Prior to starting Claris Capital Management, he was a Portfolio Manager for Del Mar Asset Management and a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank Asset Management. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2002, he was a Managing Director at Salomon Brothers Citibank, where he managed the US equity derivatives sales force from 1996 through 2001. He started his Wall Street career in 1983 at Salomon Brothers, where he was an equity analyst involved in quantitative research, portfolio construction and trading.
Charlie received a BA in Economics and Political Science from Middlebury College in 1983. Charlie was the Board Chair of Roads to Success from 2010-2014. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Naomi and three children.
Larry Hackett was editor of People magazine for eight years, starting in January 2006. With more than 42 million readers each week, PEOPLE is widely regarded as the world’s most popular and successful magazine. He left the magazine in January 2014. He previously served as the magazine’s deputy managing editor where he strengthened the magazine’s celebrity and hard news reporting, helped develop the first editions of PEOPLE’s Hollywood Daily, and served as the magazine’s primary spokesperson. Hackett played an integral role in growing the weekly’s circulation vitality and retail momentum. Larry was named President of ASME in 2010 and was re-elected in 2011.
Prior to joining PEOPLE, Hackett worked for more than eight years at the New York Daily News as a national reporter, entertainment reporter and features editor. He began his career in New Jersey at the Morristown Daily Record and subsequently the Newark Star-Ledger. A graduate of Boston University, Larry has two children and lives in Brooklyn.
Bob Musiker is owner and executive director of Summer Discovery Educational Programs and Discovery Internships, a leader in educational pre-college enrichment and Internships for teenagers from 44 states and 65 countries. Bob has also served on the board of directors of the REACH Charter School and was a member of the Steinberg National Leadership Institute of the Anti-Defamation League.
Bob received his BA in political science from Colgate University. He also studied literature and debating at Cambridge University in England, and political science and music in Chennai, South India.
Aiwa Shirako is a People Analyst at Google. She brings over 11 years of experience with research in social psychology and organizational behavior to her work improving organizational systems.
Prior to Google, Aiwa served as a Visiting Professor of Management and Organizations at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Aiwa’s research has been published in peer reviewed academic journals and edited volumes, including the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the Journal of Applied Psychology and Psychological Science.
Aiwa received a Ph.D. and a M.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Behavior from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California Berkeley.
Steve Kotran is a partner specializing in mergers and acquisitions and financial institutions at the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Steve earned a B.A. in Government from Harvard University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
Mariano Portocarrero is a Financial Analyst at Wells Fargo. Mariano brings financial acumen and fundraising experience from his four years working at the Office of Advancement at Fairfield University. He has competed in the Fairfield University Start Up competition as both a contestant and a mentor, winning over $1,500 for his team and being featured in multiple Fairfield University publications.
Mariano sits on the board of the Fairfield University Alumni Association’s NY Chapter. He holds a B.S. in Finance from Fairfield University and lives in Brooklyn.
