Elizabeth Recio, Executive Director

Elizabeth, who is better known by her friends and peers as Lisa was promoted to her Executive Director role in October 2012. She has dedicated herself to youth oriented programs in and around New York City since the age of 16. It was her deep commitment to the success of all children and dedication to the field of youth development that made the decision to promote her, an easy one for the board of directors.

Prior to Lisa’s advancement, she served as the Site Programming Specialist. In this role she developed and implemented Roads to Success’ very first Summer Camp, managed nine afterschool programs and developed and implemented a skill based curriculum for RTS students all while simultaneously developing strategies to utilize the RTS curriculum at program sites and nurturing new partnerships with organizations that utilize the RTS curriculum.  Formerly, Lisa has held the role of Summer Program Director for Oasis Children Services, Senior Program Director for Oasis Community Corporation, and has held the role of Afterschool Program Director of various sites. Lisa has also held multiple positions at Center for Family Life, the Fresh Air Fund and Shorefront YM-YWHA.

Davis Connelly, Senior Program Director

Davis Connelly holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and has been working in the non-profit sector for over 10 years. Over the years, Davis has forged partnerships with a great many Elementary or Middle Schools across multiple boroughs, designing and executing both grant-funded and tuition-based programs focusing on literacy, S.E.L, arts, S.T.E.M and/or recreation. Having initially spent 4 years as a Program Director, he also contributed to RTS’ infrastructural capacities through registration and account platforms, payroll processes, marketing efforts, training modules and plenty more. Along with his service in youth programming, Davis is a visual artist and is active in international exchange programs in the arts, having attended residencies in Corciano, Italy and the Chautauqua Institution and serving as New York’s representative for Cultural Exchange programs for the non-profit International Arts and Artists. Davis loves film analysis, rock n’ roll, mythology, travel, wilderness, and being a kid.

Cristy Gonzalez, Sr. Program Director

Cristy began a new chapter of her life with Roads to Success as program director for BCMS in August 2015. Having worked in youth development since she was 16, Cristy has always showed a great passion for teaching and mentorship. After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from City College, Cristy went on to work as an administrator for a pre-school in which she supervised teaching staff, planned school-wide events, led parent workshops, and facilitated professional development training’s with staff. Cristy’s passion and love for developing students and staff shows thru her strong work ethic, resiliency and innovation. Being a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and a new Troop leader with the Girl Scouts chapter at BCMS, Cristy wants to show her students the value of volunteerism and paying it forward.

Kachina Respress-Pierce, Master Education Specialist

Kachina holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The City College of New York. She has been working with youth for over 12 years starting in her Mother’s Day Care. Kachina has held several positions at NYJTL, PAL, YMCA, Natures Classroom, Boy Scouts of America, Keddie KeepWell Camp, Oasis Children Services, Counseling in Schools and Cardinal McCloskey Children Services.

Kachina is also a member of Gamma Nu Delta Sorority Inc. a community based organization founded at CCNY. Through her work with this organization she has gained experience in fundraising, community organizing and leading a team.  She cofounded a mentoring program with a local community based organization. She also helps raise funds to send teens to New Orleans to rebuild houses.

Jasmine Ramirez, Human Resource Manager

Jasmine earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management with a minor in Psychology from Baruch College. She has been a part of the Roads to Success team since 2012 working in several after school programs as a group leader. Besides working with Roads to Success, she has also worked for programs like Oasis Summer Camp, Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center, and Queens Community House as an Assistant Director and Operations Director. In 2016, Jasmine was hired to take on the role of Human Resource Manager for Roads to Success.

Daniel Garcia , Training Coordinator

Hailing from Brooklyn, Daniel joined RTS in 2012, starting as an Art Instructor and soon after Site Director. He has over 20 years of experience in Youth Development and Social Group Work. Daniel discovered his passion for communities growing up in The Center for Family Life after-school/summer-camp since the age of four. Mastering in Team Building and Group Work, he held every position to be held : from group leader to coordinator, Instructor to operations, Daniel is a jack of all trades. He has worked for Oasis Children’s Services for 4 summers as a Operation Director in the Upper West Side and Site Director in the South Bronx. Serving as Residential House Supervisor for The Justice Department ,and an Advocate Counselor for LGBT community for The Door, Daniel is in no shortage of experience.
