Executive Team

Affreaka Austin serves as the Chief Program Officer at Roads to Success, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the social service sector. She is a mission-driven leader with deep expertise in data-informed decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and building high-performing teams that deliver measurable results for youth and families.

Prior to joining Roads to Success, Affreaka served as Chief Program Officer at Union Settlement. In this role, she strengthened program operations and advanced service delivery across Youth Development and Opportunity, the Family Enrichment Center, and the East Harlem Community Partnership Programs. Her leadership centered on quality improvement, outcomes measurement, and staff development to ensure sustainable impact.

Affreaka began her career in direct service at Covenant House New York, providing case management and mentoring to at-risk youth. She later held executive leadership roles at WIN (Women In Need), where she oversaw transitional housing programs for families experiencing homelessness. Throughout her career, she has built a strong foundation in case management, mental health supports, housing placement, and wraparound services, successfully leading programs from start-up through full implementation and long-term sustainability.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications and a Master of Science in Education from C.W. Post Long Island University. Extensively trained in trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing, Affreaka is deeply committed to equity-centered, youth-focused programming that drives meaningful and lasting outcomes.

Raised in a family of 11, Affreaka’s strong family-centered values shape her collaborative, people-first approach to leadership.
